I'm in the beginning stages of planning an Oregon Trail unit and would LOVE any ideas you have used or created!

I have used an Interact Simulation game called Pioneers - A Simulation of Decision Making On A Wagon Train. They decide what they will bring on the wagon, keep a diary, etc... Go to http://www.teachinteract.com for more information. My students loved it!

I have a simulation also! It's called Pioneer too I believe! It's from Scholastic! They also make a Civil War and American Revolution one too!

Perfect timing...I'm teaching this, too! I'm using a simulation like some of the PP. Mine is a book from Scholastic and I got it at a local teacher supply store. I used the Scholastic American Revolution simulation earlier this year, and the kids (and me!) absolutely loved it. I know it sounds cheesy, but the simulations really make history come to life for the students. I think they're a great learning experience. We're starting tomorrow and I can't wait. Roundstanley, thanks so much for sharing the webquest. I'm going to see if I can work that in somewhere!
