Last year when I taught IPICK to first graders it was just too hard - went over their heads. I'm trying COW this year. It's a simple version. Hopefully I'm not sabotaging their Daily 5!

Love it!! I am definitely going to use it with my 3rd graders -- it's very easy and concise. I made these bookmarks using your beautiful work, so if anyone wants to use them, go ahead!!

2 questions:

what is that dot font called? love it!!

Also, how do you explain what "on your level" means -Do you level all your books and tell students which they can choose from? Do you just explain it as being able to read most of the words?

Peggyfont Light - cute isn't it?

In my county books are organized by guided reading levels and broken down into colors, so the kids understand them. All my books in their book bags have their colored stickers on them. They get 5 books on their color and then can choose a bonus book. Of course that is not for a few weeks into Daily 5. At the beginning it's all IPICK...or now COW books.
