TPSP tasks

Just wondering...I'm finding the TPSP tasks difficult to use as written. The topics are great and I'm using them, but making numerous changes to the tasks themselves, especially the final independent project. Anybody out there using them? How are you making them work for you and your students?

TPSP is the Texas Performance Standards Project. They are called tasks but they are really units of study created for GT. They are available on the TEA website.

First through Fourth

I've been doing them for the last few years with my pullout classes in first through fourth. The biggest issue I have with it is getting an "audience" for my students to present. Because I pull from multiple campuses, we have to have our presentation at night. So many of our parents work nights, or work two jobs... and don't come OR bring the kids to do their presentations.

With the new state plan and the requirement of using the PSPs or a "curriculum approved by the commissioner", there are LOADS of presentations on the PSPs at the TAGT conference this year.

Are you going to conference? I'm going all three days, I'll be glad to share any handouts I get if you want. Just email me yesteach at gmail.

Thanks. I'm going to TAGT Thurs. and Friday. I hadn't thought, but you are so right@ There will be lots of presentations on the PSPs. It will be very interesting to see.
