Hello - my class is 90 percent Chinese students learning English. Do you know of any curriculums written solely with the EAL student in mind? I have a 5-6 year old class.

Thanks!

National Geographic Inside the USA is pretty good. It covers sounds, letter clusters, vowel teams, fundamental phrases and sentences, and very simplified text that is not too overwhelming for newcomers. You mentioned the kids are five and six, so I don't know what experiences they have with print but a friend of mine uses lakeshore picture /photograph cards and talks about the pictures until the kids acquire language.

I have Avenues and Treasure Chest for my Ks. Avenues is better for kids considered Entering, Beginning, Developing (WIDA); Treasure Chest is for my Expanding and Bridging students.
