I need help coming up with a bulletin board for our new Measurement unit in fifth grade. It can be for capacity, measuring with a ruler, or area/perimeter. Any ideas?

My teaching partner is the math teacher and she attached a yard stick to her board and then put a ruler up next to it to show that 3 feet equal one yard.

Something that I learned from a mentor to help students remember that same concept is to draw a picture of a yard, put a fence around it and maybe a tree and a swing set and the2/n put 3 big feet! That helps them remember 3 feet equals one yard!

Have several measuring tools attached to the board for the students to use and then some prompt cards with things for them to measure. The more interactive the boards the better (as I am sure you know!)
