TTC after MC

Clip to ScrapBook #1

I had a miscarriage in March and now my husband and I can start ttc again. I am excited, but I am also nervous. I am worried it might happen again, but I also know I will not be happy until I have a baby in my arms. I am hoping to get pregnant quickly (it took me 6 months the first time) and I am reading about fertility and getting pregnant, but the more I read, the more worried I get. Is there anyone that has been through this that can offer any advice? TIA!

You can also find message boards on babycenter.com. They have boards for all different kinds of people, including people in your situation.

FWIW, I know of several people who have miscarried, and they all had perfectly healthy pregnancies afterward.

I don't know how far along you were...
I had two miscarriages before any testing was done on me. The first one took us about 9 months to get pregnant and I miscarried at 7 weeks last May. We got pregnant again after several months and I miscarried again in November of 08 at 9 weeks. Some blood tests were done and I was started on a high dose of folic acid and aspirin. I am currently pregnant again and am just 7 weeks along. I totally understand your excitement and worry both. I went to my specialist yesterday and he thinks I and the baby are going to be okay. He doesn't want to see me again until I am 12 weeks along.

I think my main thing is having a doctor I trust that is willing to listen and hear what I am saying. I know the more I read it seems the more there is to worry about. My specialist says that you have to keep positive thoughts and to not dwell on the negative.

Wishing you lots of baby dust and sticky dust when you become pregnant. If you want or need to you can PM with questions.

((hugs)) I've suffered through two miscarriages and I know how you feel. I'm assuming you've talked to your dr. With my 2 m/c, I lost the babies at the same time in the pg. and that helped them to figure out that I had low progesterone levels. They then put me on clomid to support the pg. and I gave birth to my beautiful dd!

I know what you mean about reading things...I read everything I could get my hands on, including tons of stuff on the internet. In some ways, it's great to educate yourself and hear others' experiences.....but in other ways it makes you worry more... Hopefully you'll find a pregnancy board online where you can find support from other ladies who are going through the same experience.

I worried through my entire second pg.--up until the day I delivered. After my 2 m/c, I was sure it would happen again. It was very stressful, and I think it was why we never tried for a third. I hope everything works out for you! There's so much they can do these days to help you get pg. and carry a healthy pg. I wish you lots of luck.

I wish you good luck! I miscarried two and a half weeks ago at 6 weeks along. I did not need a D&C and as of Monday, my hcg levels are at 5. The Dr. said I just needed to wait 1 full cycle before ttc again. DH and I will be trying immediately after I get my period. It was literally our first attempt to get pregnant and we were so surprised when we found out we were expecting. I guess it was just too good to be true.

So I understand your concerns, fears, and determination. I wish you and DH all the best and success!

Is a wonderful thing but can totally consume you too. It is so easy to entertain a scary thought and next thing I know I feel overcome with anxiety. I have a good friend who miscarried in Dec and is pregnant again now and everything is going well. I remember reading an article once that the odds are highly in your favor of not having multiple miscarriages in a row. Hopefully all goes well and you can enjoy your pregnancy. God bless!
