I dropped my iPhone 5 in the toilet. I got it out quickly, but am not 100% sure I got it to power off. I put it in rice and 36 hours later - nada. Any advice or insight? I can't get a new phone until August 30th and can't get an early upgrade because I need a working phone. Help!

When that happened to my roommates, I think I took the battery off and did it for 72 hours....Google it. There are a lot of suggestions.
All I know is I had a hard time waiting the 3-4 days to see if it worked but it did...
Good luck!

DH did that recently (well, his went into a lake, but immediately he pulled it out of his pocket). After trying the rice for a few days, he took it to a cellphone repair place. They said it's best to get it to them the same day because otherwise the parts stay wet for too long.

He had to get a new one.

Maybe someone else has an idea that works. He even tried everything he could find on the internet.
