I don稚 know if life was a series of small problems before I retired, but now that I actually have time to take care of things the problems seem ever-present.

I HATE the L.A. County Assessor痴 Office. I own my parents old house there. I did everything right to change my mailing address for the bill when I moved here. Got it last year, but not this year. I can稚 get through to a human being to help me. I have requested another bill, but that won稚 solve the problem. I need it fixed. I致e sent 3 emails asking for help. I AM SO FRUSTRATED!

Yes, there痴 a way to pay online, but there痴 a 2% charge and I知 way too cheap for that. Plus, I just want the &^%# bill.

ARRRRGH!

Very annoying. I hope you get through to someone who can fix it!

I am sorry you have to deal with this issue. This kind of task made more difficult than it has to be steals our joy. I hope the issue is resolved soon.

You may have to bite the bullet and go in person.😬

When my mom was in the early stages of Alzheimer痴, her PG&E Bill was a hot mess. After numerous phone calls, snail mail letters, and emails, I finally had to go in person and make the necessary adjustments.

I think I did it. Fingers crossed! I spent 1.3 hours on hold, but I talked to a human being who looked me up and swears all the info is correct and that the bill is coming.

Thank you for holding my hand.

Over an hour on hold?!? Holy cow! You have the patience of Job.
There's nothing like a little bureaucracy to mess up our lives!
Hope it's resolved!

So maddening! I remember being in the teachers lounge many years ago while a colleague screamed into the phone "I want to talk to a real person!" And of course she only had 15 minutes to try to deal with it. So yay for retirement I guess

Hope it's actually fixed and you get that bill in the next couple of days.

I just received my bill today (Oct 19th) Yours may actually be in the mail.

My dd insists that when you can't get through to a real person let loose with a string of cuss words. It seem sto work for her.

amiga, I hope everything will be resolved soon. It sure is frustrating to deal with automated systems.

That's so funny! Until it's not. Earlier this week I tried to get into my Equifax account because they had sent me an alert and I wanted to check it. I had to go through a bunch of automated questions and I got so frustrated that I said some cuss words. The system then told me I could not get in because I did not answer correctly. After calling a support person, that person told me I had to jump through a lot of hoops, including sending my personal information to the company, which would then take up to a week to see if the problem could be resolved.

Oh yes, cvt! I feel for you. I once had to deal with a credit issue in order to get a new Social Security card (which I needed for a Real ID). SS checks your credit and I didn’t have a satisfactory record because I don’t borrow. So I bought 2 pieces of expensive furniture at Macy’s, had them increase my credit limit, and put it on the card. Ta da, new SS card. What a rip.

For me, the worst was L.A. property tax office. I once got through and the phone was answered in a very crabby voice like this, “What do you want?”

My second worst was my benefits company. It took almost a year of back-and-forth to resolve my move.

The wait for Medicare can be bad (I try to time it for the callback option), but once I get through they’ve been nothing but fabulous.

This morning I looked online at today’s mail; I will be receiving TWO L.A. Property tax bills.
