I do intervention groups with students K-2 in reading/writing. I have one group of kindergarteners that are not making the progress that the other students are and I would like to try some Reading Recovery strategies with them. Could anyone help me with some ideas?

Zoophonics (numerous videos are available on utube)has been very helpful in teaching letter sounds. We also talk a lot about getting our mouths ready in order to pronounce a word and we do use picture cues. I require children to reread until a passage is fluent. This is not always easy because Reading Recovery was designed for one-on-one interaction. Sadly, many schools have moved away from this due to the cost.
Good Luck,
Vita
