Silly quarantine question
Old 08-08-2020, 07:53 PM

Youíre quarantined with the last musical artist you saw live. Now whoís stuck in your house?

My answer: Chris Isaak

And I'm good with that because I've been a big fan for many, many years! I have seen him 3 times in concert, last time in 2016. (Yes, I don't get out much...)

I've been to very few concerts. The last one I can remember going to was Imagine Dragons, maybe 5 years ago now? I like their music, but I don't even know their names or anything like that . My friend had gotten free tickets from her work (corporate perks!) so that's how I ended up going.

I'd be setting up house for Cyndi Lauper and Rod Stewart to bunk with me and DH. That'd be so much fun!

I don't like concerts (not just the crowds, but I like my music experience to be more private, lol), but I took DD to a concert when she was 10 years old. So I guess I'm stuck with:

Selena Gomez

Cursive

We haven't gone much since having kids. I was hoping my kids would want to start going with me, but we don't have much of the same taste in music. They like a few things I like . Thankfully, we all love musicals though.

I can't remember for sure. Either Sheryl Crow or John Meyer. Either way, we'd have some guitar playing happening!

added: , I completely forgot my husband! He is a musician and plays in a British brass band. I would certainly have a full house, but they would be friendly. I would have to invest in a substantial amount of beer. . .

The last group(s) I saw live were a few years ago. They were bands/musicians from the late '50s and "60s. As a good will gesture I went to an "oldies revival" just to please my husband.
Now, here they are in my house wheezing, with one foot in the grave and the other on a slippery place as I try my best to keep them breathing, able to stand upright and able to remember who they are.

Send help! I am becoming unable to cope!

Plus, I don't have enough weed, booze and soul food to keep them happy! Some have come back as ghosts like Ricky Nelson. The only really cool, wonderful guest is Aretha Franklin.

Well, Mommy9298, we'll have to fight for, or share, Jeff Lynne from ELO. He also had Dhani Harrison (George's son) as an opening act.

Before that it was Stevie Wonder. Before that Carlos Santana (that guy has a lot of energy!).
Party at Suzy's house - although all these guys (except Dhani) are 15-20 years older than me.

I really want to say Paul Simon because that's the last concert I saw before Boy was born but then I remember that I had to take him to a rock concert when he was 14. I can't remember the name of it but I badly don't want them to be stuck in my house with me. So, I'm going to stick with Paul Simon.

For me it would be the entire LA Philharmonic Orchestra. I saw them in concert just a few days before the shutdown here in SoCal. They are awesome!! My house and yard would be awfully crowded but I'd be thrilled!

My husband!
Old 08-09-2020, 10:17 AM

My husband, in his retirement, has been doing lots of music, mostly folk music. He sings really well and accompanies himself on guitar. He's also part of a folk quartet.

Anyhow DH had an outdoor gig at a senior living facility a couple of weeks ago and I went along. He performed outdoors and residents could come outside to listen or listen from their balconies.

So...I'm quarantined with him, as usual!

Oops, just remembered that I last saw Maroon Five! Oh my, Adam Levine! That’s a better choice!

my last live concert was Imagine Dragons as well. The lead singer is Dan Reynolds.

I have been to a live show in Branson, MO, though. I saw The Haygoods since then. I would be fine with that too-- except that there are 7 or so of them...

I think most of us are going to have to stock up on the booze and possibly other "substances".

The Charlie Daniels Band...since Charlie passed away recently it may be quite difficult.

That's a difficult one, because I went to Desert Trip festival in Coachella, nicknamed Oldchella because of all the "old time" rock artists. I saw the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Neil Young, The Who and Roger Waters. Since Roger Waters (of Pink Floyd fame) was the last one to perform at this festival, I'd say it would be him. He actually doesn't look too bad for 76.

"The Vienna Boys Choir!" Twenty five of them.
PrivateEyes, I love them! But yeah, 25 of them would be a bit much.

if you're not going to use him, will you send Paul McCartney my way? My 12 year old self would pass out. My 56 year old current self would be pretty damn thrilled.

The last live concert we went to had MANY artists included but since it was a tribute to and had all surviving members of The Lovin' Spoonful there, I'll pick them!

I have been to 2 concerts in my life and can't remember which one was last.
It was either New Kids on the Block who I took my niece to see for her 5th birthday [she's 34 now] or Bruce Springsteen. I'd like to think The Boss was the last musical artist I saw.

Mine would be Garnet Rogers, who probably only Canadians might know. Brother of the late Stan Rogers.

I guess you could call it a concert, but it really was an intimate gathering at a house in Wisconsin, part of the folk scene in Madison. It was amazing! I had no idea what to expect going into it but I would kill to have an experience like it again!
