Hey everyone, I am looking at buying an Android tablet (prefer that system to the iPad). Does anyone out there have one they would recommend?

Sorry, I would recommend the iPad. Not an android fan.

I'd have to agree with Emmy. The iPad has a larger app store and is generally a better piece of hardware than any of the android tablets. I'd look more into the iPad before you write it off completely (as I write this fom my iPad....)

iPad all the way. The androids haven't been around long enough. Plus if my phone is any indication (I have an android and I hate it, my daughter has an iPhone and I'm so jealous) I'd stick with the iPad. I'm curious to see what others have to say, I mean if there are any android fans out there because they are a lot cheaper than the iPad.

Nothing against the iPad (I love my iPod touch), but I think for my needs, the android OS is what I need. I have an android phone and I like it better than my DD's iPhone. Also, a friend has an iPad and can't access school stuff on it - everything school related needs flash. I know I will use it mainly for school things, so I really think I would prefer the android system. Soooo.......any android tablet users out there have any suggestions for me?

It really depends on what you are going to use it for. If I were going to use it in the classroom I'd get a sub-200 tablet (Skytex- skypad). I'm looking for a top of the line tablet myself (Asus Transformer Prime). Other great tablets are Motorola Xoom, Samsung galaxy tab, or Toshiba Thrive. Head over to a Best Buy and play around with each of these. You can get great deals on 2011 model tablets. Watch techbargains (dot) com for super deals.

No iPad for me. I recently got a Motorola Xoom (from Best Buy if it matters) and LOVE it!

To me, Android/Google is just so much more user-friendly and versatile. I use an Android Smartphone as well.

Verizon has a great price on them if you opt for the monthly rate. I chose not to do that because most places I use them have wi-fi.

Ps. Not to offend any Apple fans out there, but the iPad is not significantly greater than the Android in any measurable way now.

I have the acer iconia....LOVE IT. So portable easy to use. Syncs with my phone and all the information is on place. I got it at walmart...they matched staples on their black friday ad.
