How to add borders in google docs

Clip to ScrapBook #1

I recently downloaded a bunch of cute frames and borders to use in task cards, my sub binder, etc. I make my items with google docs (for the most part), and I haven't been able to get the frame and borders to accept a text box so that I can write in them. I also can't seem to adjust the size of the frames, etc. to get 4 to a page.

Any idea where I might be going wrong? I'm not the techiest person in the world, so you may need more info, I know.

I find google docs clunky to work with. Could you make your document with Word and then upload it? Itís what I do.

It might be easier to work in google drawings rather than docs. I feel like text boxes work in drawings.
