Great place to be

I just read the post titled "hip replacement" and was reminded how supportive the people on this web board are if one another. Getting older definitely can have it's challenges, the replies so far to that post so far seem so helpful. So many times I have read other posts, and asked some questions myself and the replies usually are very sincere. Opinions might vary, but the experience shared is invaluable and probably has helped many work their way through a situation.

I agree! I love PT! Think the great majority of posters are kind and helpful. I always think of this from tiny buddah:
Quote:
It may take some time to train yourself to stop reading between the lines. But when you assume the best intentions, it will transform your relationship.
And it will transform our PT lives. I wholeheartedly believe most people mean well.

I also think the people who post about being “hurt” by responses and are “never coming back” might think ahead a bit before they post. If we don’t want responses, we need to say so.

I can’t count the times I have been helped by PTers. Truly helped. Small problems solved. And PT was my lifeblood when I was DH’s caregiver (for me that means taking care of someone in one’s home). Truly, you saved me.

Thanks for the post and thanks to you all.

Yes...This is such a supportive group of people. In the darkest of my moments after my surgeries folks here were always ready with encouraging words and/or helpful suggestions. I like to think that my life experiences can help someone else. I often think how great it would have been to have Pro Teacher when my kids were teens or even younger. There is wisdom to be gained by others examples of selfless love.

I agree! I have gotten nothing but support from PT.

PT responses

I realized that not many big decisions I eventually must make happen without input from my PT friends.

I can get all the expert advice out there but personal experience often means more to me. That's where you all come in.

Twin2, I had the same feelings as you after I read the hip replacement thread.
