And.....we have a date!

Our house guests will be here one day shy of 7 months when they move out on June 1st! She has a place. I am not sure that would have happened had DH and I not been pushing them. We are so relieved and......everything seems more bearable now that we know they are leaving soon!

Thanks for all your support and encouragement!

Nancy

Soon you will be free of house pests! Beware of accepting any new ones.

You've already given much more than your share!

That will be nice to have your house back. As they say in some circles "that has earned you a BIG jewel in your crown in heaven".

So happy for you. My sister had trouble getting rid of a roommate a few years ago after he had done many horrible things like losing her dog, setting his bedroom on fire and not paying rent. You must be very relieved.

Finally! I'm so glad you will have your home back; and that your guests have an actual place to move to!

Book a locksmith for the first

If you lent them a key during the seven months, and even if you received it back, pleased consider having the locks changed.

My friend was in a similar situation. After her “guest” moved out, the “guest” used a copy of a key she had made (unbeknownst to my friend) to access the house without my friend’s permission.

I'm glad that they are finally moving out. I agree with a previous poster that you should change the locks. I've heard stories about people who vacate a residence and then come back for various reasons.

I could hear your sigh of relief all the way in California! Changing locks might be a good idea...or you can have current locks rekeyed

Can't imagine

I can't imagine having house guests staying for 7 months!
Don't have the details, but from the other responses, congrats on their move out. I would also get the locks changed. It might be a good idea to keep track of your belongings/important info to make sure none of that "walks out the door" with them. Sounds like they took advantage of your kindness.

You are incredible! I know for a fact I couldn’t do it. I bet you’ll think twice before even having an overnight guest. By the way, how is your daughter?

I do understand what sharing our home was like and how that was abused. I'm glad your house guests are finally ready to move on.
