Looking for a movie to tie in with the concept of reduce, reuse, recycle....any suggestions??? Has anyone watched The Lorax or Wall-E? Open to suggestions appropriate for 3rd graders...

My 3rd graders loved Wall-e. Fern Gully is good, too. Haven't seen The Lorax.

Read the book then watch the movie - I enjoy the original more than the new one, but it doesn't really matter. You can use it for a compare/contrast as well.

Fern gully is a great choice for conservation as it goes a step further and it talks about how loosing one resources has a domino effect of the whole ecosystem and how it rally is everyone's responsibility.

The new lorax didn't feel like it led to thoughts or conversations that were all that deep. Wall E is good to but the fat people in chairs kinda confuse the issue and I feel like they put the focus on healthy living rather than on recycle/reduce/reuse and conservation as much as it could be. Plus kids focus on wall E and his love rather than rooting for planet earth.
