My grade can not agree on what a legend is. I have googled it and again it says so many different things. It seems there isn't a concensus. Some sights say its stories like "how the sun got into the sky". stories with people that have a superpower. Other sites say its a story that teaches a lesson set inn history like Robinhood (no superpower) HELP... I REALLY NEED HELP ON THIS! If you can clarify with possibly an example, I'd be indebted to you forever!!

There are many types of folk tales and some overlap so it gets confusing.

A legend is about someone like Davy Crockett or Daniel Boon. They were real people and did heroic deeds. The stories then expand and grow to become bigger than life and partially fictional. However, it is based on something that really happened.
