Creating a Web Page for School

Hello. I've never created a web page. I figured it'd be a good experience to learn how to and volunteered. Well, the school year lead to summer school which was immediately followed by LOTS of PD and now it's crunch time and I've got responsibilities going on with my personal life and family. I am going to log off of PT and dive in to the first "overdue" task. (I thought it was going to be some workshops, but apparently we are working completely online.)

Can anyone share a message of encouragement or advice? I am meeting with my princ tomorrow or Tues to discuss my progress. She knows I was doing PD and that my Dad (89 years old) was sick and went into the hospital, but I wanna make this happen even though I clearly procrastinated.

Help?!??? (How much can I get done in 24 hours?)

TIA to anyone who can share their experience/expertise/wisdom or PRAY for me.

Are you a GAFE school? You could use Google Sites to create a webpage and it is the best price-free! You can start out simple and add to it as you learn how to do things. You can find you-tube videos to help you. Can you enlist the help of a friend so it isn't all on your shoulders?

Our district uses Oncourse for online lesson plans and we have our teacher web pages through them, but we are a GAFE district. This summer they didn't renew licenses for Microsoft Suite so we are completely Google Apps. Our school secretary used Google Sites to create our school webpage. I anticipate that they might ask teachers to move our web pages to Google Sites sometime this year.

If you’re not a Google school

I recommend Weebly. It’s free unless you want to have an address that doesn’t have “weebly” in it, and it is super easy to use. The websites that you build are simple and look good on both mobile devices and computers.

Here is a link to an old class website I had at a previous school:

Whatever you end up using, you can do it!

I used Google sites and found it to be very user-friendly. There's a tutorial on YouTube if you get confused. I learned it as part of a class a few years ago.

It's sad that the only other way to make sites I remember is GeoCities, which may have gone defunct many years ago.

You can get a basic Google site up in a few hours.
