Texas teachers: are you tired of that four-letter word yet...data? Have you grilled and assessed your students into exemplary robots? Are you on that socialistic "same-page" as the teacher next door that you never see other than in your "professional learning community" because he/she is too busy trying to cram 13 hours of work a day into 8? When are you guys ready to send a message to your administrators, school board, and state representatives? Anyone interested in staging a state wide sickout? The teachers in my district are...share your thoughts and pledges to organize support for sending that message on Monday, November 17, 2008

I'm all for "letting your voices be heard", but what happens to the children while you are grandstanding? We have a responsibility to teach these kids how responsible, educated adults work out their problems.

Just food for thought.

We aren't "teaching" them anymore. We are glorified factory workers without the benefits of a real union. Today's education is a joke...it's all about grilling students so they pass a worthless test so that idiot politicians can go around and grandstand about superficial improvements to education and worthless administrators can play with their exemplary plaques/trophies. I care very much about my students...any teacher that cares will admit that we are all ramming the TAKS test down their throats so we can keep our jobs. What a freaking joke...educated adults working out their problems. Texas teachers are so abused, its not funny. If you don't see that public education is becoming a socialistic robot factory, you've already been brainwashed. This faux-educational atmosphere forced upon teachers and students is fast approaching a crisis state that demands demonstrative attention.
