Will students egg my house?

So just organizing my classroom books (the classroom I don't have yet)...is it okay to place actual mailing address labels inside my book jackets or is it a safety issue? I live about 10 miles from the school I am hoping to get a job at.

Any past experiences or advice you care to share would be awesome!

TIA

In books, I always just make a free vistaprint stamp with my name on it and stamp the inside. Another teacher made one with name and school's name.

I realized (after the fact) after a whole year of teaching my email signature had my address in it. Never was a problem, but I don't think I'd do it again, just in case. :P

I would recommend only putting your name in your books, especially if you will be letting students take these home. You never know about some people. Also, I wouldn't put a room number, school, or grade level because those may change and then you'd have to relabel. Mine say "Mrs. B's Classroom".

Yup, I wouldn't put your address in them. There's just really no need for that!

My self-inking stamp says: "Personal Property of Mrs. Sonja Xxxxx"

Yeah, definitely keep your home address safe. Chances are, if the book is found, it will not be mailed to you.

I would not put address on anything. I even cut off name on my magazines! I should do that with the ones B and SIL are donating to me.

I would not do it! Can you chop off the address part off? OR If you are making them just type your name on a label twice and chop them to have two out of one label.

A lot of the books in my collection are my old books. They all have bookplates in them. The really old ones have my maiden name and parents' address. The newer ones have my current name and current address.

Tomorrow starts my 18th year in the district where I live. I've never had an issue. STudents have seen my address in the books. The address is in the phone book. Some of them ride the bus past my house every day. No problems.

Mailing labels inside classroom library books

Thank you for all the post in answer to my question about putting in address labels. I ran out of my book plates that I put in all my personal reading material, but have a ton of address labels. I could cut off the address part as stated in a similar post, or I could just stamp my name. I am up for anything. I would just like something in the book that says it is mine when students might check them out.
