Do you use google classroom? What do you like to use it for?

I'm just starting to use it. So far I've just had very simple assignments using google docs and I pushed out a youtube video to them. I'd like to start using it more, though!

What are your favorite features?

My DH's whole school jumped into Google Classroom full force this year. I'm not sure they're using it to its full potential, yet. They post all their homework there, classroom assignments, resources, etc.

I can ask him what aspects he likes best, but that's as a high school teacher.

I think of it similar to how I used Edmodo. I loved giving quizzes (and then instantly grading them) on Edmodo. Not sure that's possible on Google Classroom.

All that to be not much help. I hope someone else can be more helpful than me!

I have all writing assignments posted and submitted via Classroom. I also pre-load questions and save them ask drafts for when we're doing whole class reading and I stop to ask questions about what we're reading. I assign the question, which is waiting for me in draft mode, and everyone has to answer. I can see everyone's answers and then I pick two or three kids to call on to read their answers aloud.

I like it because it makes everyone accountable. It also allows shyer kids an opportunity to be heard because they know they won't be called upon unless their answer is correct, so they're confident in reading it.

Hokie - check out Flubaroo for grading quizzes on Google Classroom. You use Google Forms for the quiz.

I use the Announcement section for posting study guides and other documents that don't need to be turned in and I don't want to run as a set of copies for the kids.
