Christmas project?

I have been trying to come up with a short-term project for kids to do at home with a Christmas/winter theme. For Thanksgiving we did the Thanksgiving Math project where you have $100 to spend on Thanksgiving dinner. Some of their projects were great. They loved the project and wanted to do another one around Christmas. But their brain-dead teacher cannot come up with one!
It can be any subject (math, reading, lang. arts, social studies), but I want there to be some kind of artistic/creative project. I have always gotten great ideas here - Thanksgiving turkey disguise is my favorite!
Any ideas?
TIA

How about illustrated winter poems? Show them some different types of poems (sonnet, haiku, etc) and have them create illustrated poems in several different formats.

A mathy one: You have a certain budget and must fill a stocking (specify the volume) for a specific person and come in under budget. Interview the person to find out their likes/dislikes/needs/wants first. Lots of different skills there!

I have done this math one:

For The 12 Days of Christmas, how many gifts did my true love get in total?

As a starter, we know she gets 12 partridges, 22 calling birds....

Ask them to show their work.

Google the answer...its fascinating.

I love the 12 days of Christmas idea!

You could always do the one where they look up Christmas (or any winter holiday) in another county. You could have them do a small poster with an illustration and a few facts.

Christmas writing

I know you said at home, but you could do some writing at school and have them complete the tree part at home if needed.

Ours was a How to Decorate a Christmas Tree ( writing step by step/sequence directions in paragraph form).

Students typed them up and then mounted them on construction paper next to a paper tree colored with decorations.
It's a nice all display.

My students do this activity. They all like guessing what their peers are giving so they listen carefully as each person reads their riddle.
