Holiday Crafts for upper grades

Any ideas for holiday crafts that don't require purchasing a lot of things and are not snowflake related (we are doing rotations and another teacher is dang snow flakes)?

The materials I have is glue, construction paper, sand, glitter, and paint (not water colors).

You could have the kids use measurement skills by cutting gradually smaller rectangles of different colors and glue them horizontally onto light blue paper to make a Christmas tree. Then put white stars or snowflakes in the background with crayons or colored pencils.

Paper strip Christmas trees

I'm planning to do this with my 5th graders: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com...4b2cb98481.jpg

I'm using astrobright paper, but it would work just as well with construction paper.

Edit: I just realize anna posted roughly the same idea! Oops! I guess that's a popular project.

My kids always loved pin art, where they use a pushpin to outline a picture onto construction paper, then you put it in the window.
