Lamp

Clip to ScrapBook #1

Iím considering a lamp for my classroom instead of using the overhead florescents. The lights give me headaches/impede my focus. This new room Iím in long and narrow, so it only has the one light switch for both lines of lights. Itís a small enough room that I think one of those many headed lamps would suffice. Does anyone else use lamps? Why do you like them (or not, if you donít)? Thank you!

I did for many years along with the overhead lights that come in a classroom. The lamp was for that "homey ambiance" sort of mood. ... About 2 years ago, we were told it was a fire hazard and we are no longer allowed to have them.

I have 3 lamps in my room, 2 small ones and 1 with the 5 heads. I love them. I also get major migraines from the fluorescent lights so I got some of the light filters for my florescents and that helped tremendously!

We are allowed; in fact, many teachers have alternate lighting. I’d just like a break from the fluorescent lights here and there.

I wonder if it bothers kids as much as us! I definitely get headaches and feel like my eyes are tired/unfocused after a couple hours! Maybe all schools should have softer lighting in classrooms and save the fluorescent lights fur the halls/gym/public areas!

I think I will go for a little five headed lamp, bc they’re inexpensive and if it doesn’t help or work out, I didn’t invest much! Thank you for your opinions/advice!

I bought these last year and put them over my lights. It was amazing! I also had other lamps, but these cut down on the headaches and eye strain.

Thank you for the suggestion, but I canít put anything on the lights. They do have frosty plastic strips but they donít cover the bulb even.

Wednesday is the first day with kids and I am looking forward to seeing how the lamp works out!
