"Explorations" ideas?

Clip to ScrapBook #1

Our school is doing an "Explorations" Day in February. Basically, each teacher is responsible for a 3 hr activity for either primary (K-2) or intermediate (3-5). I originally planned on poetry, but after everyone else gave their topics I don't think I want to do that.
Other teachers are doing: rockets, airplanes, painting, cooking, hiking, jewelry-making, music and homemade instruments.
I am at a complete loss. I want to focus on intermediate, but I just don't know what to do. My hobbies are reading, jewelry-making, and cooking, but those are taken. The only other thing that I can think of is forensic science - I'm a huge crime buff. I was thinking maybe fingerprints, handwriting, maybe comparing tire tracks (with hot wheels).? I just don't know.

My daughter's girl scout service unit did a forensic science activity. It included fingerprinting, codes, invisible writing, a DNA activity. Probably other things, but I don't remember. They had a great time.

Can you not cook something different? Indoor vs outdoor? Main dish vs dessert?

Fingerprints, chromatography, etc. Also a scenario where they can use their newfound skills to solve a mystery.
I'm excited!
