My school doesn't offer too many after school clubs so my principal has put me in charge or starting up a few! I need ideas.....what does your school offer for after school programs?

I know it's rather cheesy, but...

what about a Scrabble club? My middle schoolers absolutely love the game. It's great fun.

we don't have many, but our elementary school does a chess club (VERY popular, they have to turn away kids, they get too many), a girls on the run club (for a 5K) and a drama club for 5th graders.

I run our school's Science Club...we hold it on Saturdays, but it could be an after school club as well. As part of our Science Club, we also care for our school's garden.

The art teacher runs an after school Art Club.

There's also Girls in Engineering (part of Girl Scouts, but I'm not sure if that's the official name).

There's Boy Scouts and Girls Scouts/Brownies.

We used to have a program where the students had an hour of math followed by a selection of clubs: basketball, art, yearbook, and math & technology (students chose one club to participate in).

We have a few after school clubs:

I am the one in charge of these clubs:
Lab Rats (Science club)
Shutterbugs (Photography club)

Here are some of the others:
Running Club
Lego Club
Chess Club
Art Club

I know we have others but this is all I can think of right now.

I run a Service Club for 5th and 6th graders and they LOVE it! It's sort of like student council, but way more involved. Here are some of the things we do:

* visit children in a nursing home
* visit a local nursing home
* help at the local food bank
* decorate teacher's doors
* organize events like fall fair, craft night, talent show, movie nights
* visit younger classrooms for crafts and other fun activities
* organize collections like pennies for patients, drives for the animal shelter

Let me know if you would like more info!

We have Girls on the Run (GOTR) for grades 3-5 and Girls on Track for middle school. You can go to the girls on the run website and they will give you all the information you need to start the program at your school. The bonus is that they give you all the materials you need to run the program.

Hope this helps
