I just got a phone call from someone (sounded from the Carribean) telling me my computer has a virus. I asked what computer and they said Windows. Don't fall for it folks. How would random people get my number?

I hate that kind of stuff! The other day someone came to my door selling test prep materials for HS students. She kept fishing for info. Our kids are grown. I told her we were fine and that I was in education so we had all we needed. I should have told her my DD scored a perfect score on the math, so we didn't need her materials!

phony windows caller

I had the same phone call twice! The caller actually hung up on me the second time, because I kept telling her that windows doesn't call people. She got very upset and told me to calm down and listen to her that she wasn't from windows but from computer service for windows! I just kept calmly saying really, windows doesn't call people. She hung up and no more calls (knock on wood).

many times too. The first time the guy sounded so concerned and was saying that he needed to fix the computer right then or it would crash. I started laughing and told him I wasn't on my computer I was on my ipad and already googled his company and did he want me to tell him how many sites report his company as a scam. He hung up. Then the next day they call again.
Scam. My caller sounded like he had an Indian accent.
