Anyone work as a part time resource teacher in a school where you have 10 students with high minutes 500-700 minutes and served them all by yourself from 8:30-11:30 (K-5) all in one room without assistance. Is this normal? I am burning out. I can't keep up with all of the data logs and paperwork. I am always in meetings and I also have another school in addition to this school.

I would be burning out as well. You have so many different grade levels too which makes it harder--unless they are on similar levels but then developmentally they are on 2 different fields. Are there other teachers who can help with paperwork, interventions, etc? We sometimes have Title staff help us but as a whole all of our kids are getting lower and lower (which changes the need for support).

No one will assist. I have to leave this school frequently in order to attend IEP meetings at the other school. I am putting in for a transfer next year. I cannot return to this. I am fearful that I am going to be labeld an ineffective teacher. I have been told by my department to implement centers.

I have to say that setting up centers has really helped me. Even though they all seem to need 1:1, with training, they can work a center with a partner with training. You can just start with one center, then add a new one each week. That way you can pull one aside to work with individually. Having 2 part time Resource jobs does not equal one job. It's more like two jobs. Finding a full-time at one school would be so much better if you can.
