Wrecked by a tv show?!

I'm not a super emotional person. I don't often get emotionally invested in tv shows, movies or books. It's rare for me to cry. I hate sappy.

But wow. I watched the season finale of Outlander last night and it just about killed me. I can't seem to let it go - I've been thinking about it all day. It was so powerful, so haunting, so well acted and filmed. I've read the books so I even knew what was coming and yet at times I couldn't breathe.

Tell me I'm not the only one that's been wrecked by a tv show!

We are new to this show, and are hooked! We are in the middle of season 3 on Netflix.

I don't have Starz, so I've only seen through season 4. Which book does season 5 equate to?

Yes, I thought they did an amazing job. Very emotional to watch. I really liked all the hidden moments in the dream sequence, and Iím really glad that that used that, rather than showing everything.

Ack!! Havenít watched it yet. The Jamie/Jack Randal prison scene did that to me. And weirdly enough, the last episode of Fleabag stayed with me for a bit.

Six Feet Under

I watched Six Feet Under when it originally aired, so I knew what to expect. I still cried throughout parts of it when I watched it again. I was also sad for it to end just like I was sad the first time I watched it.

Season 5 is mostly pulled from book 5 The Fiery Cross, but it does pull some from book 6 A Breath of Snow and Ashes (which is where the finale comes from).

I've now watched it 3 times and each time I see something I didn't before. It was brilliantly done, and brilliantly acted. Obviously I still haven't let it go!

Thank you, Sbkanga5. It's been a long time since I read the series and had lost track of whether each season tracked with the books. I may jump in and reread that one, so I'm ready when the season comes to disc/streaming.

At first I was not too sure about the casting of the main characters, but now I can't imagine anyone else playing those parts. I've enjoyed seeing the characters walk off the page and onto the screen.

Wish it didn't take Gabaldon so long to write each book, but she sure does her research.
