Stunning, but just not my taste. It's a bit over the top.

Very cool! I especially liked the library and Star Sailer Manor.

For $12 million, they better include the dog!

I noticed it was called "Whimsy Hall". It almost looks like they're trying too hard to me, but that's just me.

I find that exhausting. So busy. And what's with the rugs? Is that sound insulation?

Love the driveway to the entrance—- your ow private street it seems. The house has so many unique details. Love the picture of the cake on the countertop— good selling point!

Why do I find that house frightening? It looks like a murder is lurking in the next room. To me, not a happy place.

And why is everything named for the sea (with Jack London stuff) when the house is so far inland?

The description says “infamous.” I’ll bet that house has incredible stories to tell.

That’s a lot of land in LA for only $12,000,000.

I only looked at a few pictures but the interior reminds of the house in the movie Knives Out

That's why it felt so familiar. Thank you!

Yes, great connection! Maybe that’s why it made me think of murder.

That seems like a steal for Los Angeles.

Not my style at all, but still very cool. I'd love to decorate it so the house has the chance to speak more and the furniture takes a back seat.

Wow, so many residences and that land for that price-- maybe a neighborhood wants to get together and buy it

It’s appraised for taxes at around 919,000 which comes out to around 9,000 a year. That seems low when it’s listed for 12 million.

Prop 13. It has been with the same owner for many years. Taxes will take a huge jump when it sells

I would love to live there! It's very, very different from where I live now but I like it. The one thing I would have to do is remove some furniture from every room because I don't like clutter.

It is unique for sure. I always wanted to live with my family in a compound like the Kennedys.

For me the homes seem so dark, to much wood. I noticed the garage doors in the first house are buckling.

I wanted to find out a little about John Van Pelt and found this....

I think this property would be a great Bed & Breakfast or Airbnb-- 5 separate units--for people who want to experience 1930s Los Angeles. Whimsical, fairytale-ish and Disneyesque cottages, with lots of nooks and crannies to explore. I had not heard of the storybook style, which I learned was popular during the 1920s and 30s, and started in California. I wouldn't mind spending a three or four days in one of them. Not my taste, but it sure looks fun.
