Sewing machine mat/cover

Clip to ScrapBook #1

I had lots of leftover 2.5" cut squares from my quilt top earlier in the year. I did this a little differently from the quilt top and put the navy blue with color dots in between each other square. I quilted by stitching straight lines through the diagonals of the navy blue with color dots. I know it's there and I can't see it. I probably should have put some binding over the top edge of the line of pockets at the bottom for some definition but didn't think about it until it was too late.

This will probably be used as a mat with the pockets more than a cover. I did not put ties on the sides. I'd probably be likely to just drape it over the machine and not tie it anyway.

Looks great! I like the quilt look for the mat and your colors.

I never thought of making mine into a mat! I did not put ties on my serger cover and just laying it overworks fine. Yours looks great! It

Very nice! I have been intending to make a mat but it may have to be a winter project.
