Recent events in others' lives have caused me to sit back and think about just how lucky my family and I are in so many ways. We may not be rich and have everything we want, we have so much more than so many. I'm feeling thankful today for what we have: our home, our health, jobs, plenty of food in the pantry, and our bills are paid each month.

I'm not posting to be "braggy;" just posting because I needed to say it. I hope that all of you have something in your life to be thankful for.

My very best to you all. Stay safe out there.

I’m really glad you posted this, kerrysgirl.

As you say, I know I am sometimes perceived as “braggy” because I am happy with my life. Not a day goes by that I don’t stop to appreciate what I have/do.

I’m your thankful friend.

Agreed. I can't even count how many times I have said this since March.

I've always been grateful for what I have. Rarely does the green envy monster come out, but since March I have been even more appreciative!

Even though I have had some health issues and other difficult things, I am so thankful for the love of Christian husband for the last 45 years, and three children and two grandchildren that I love dearly. We have everything we need, plus a little more. God has been good to us.

I am very grateful for everything I have (family, home, job, food, ...) and have become even more so since my cancer diagnosis (multiple myeloma) in May 2016. I try my best to share how thankful I am with everyone. It is a blessing to wake up each morning, despite my chronic pain.

Although I do have some health challenges, I am very grateful for the good things I have in my life, family, friends, my home, my mountain escape, my cat and dog, and my retired teacher pension. Every day is a gift!

I constantly thank God for my amazingly supportive parents. I donít know what Iíd do without them. I know, that even at 43 years old, I can call them night or day and theyíll be there for me. I always feel badly for people who donít have that and marvel at parents who are anything less than supportive and unconditionally loving of their kids.

It's good to look at the good in our lives, especially in bad times. Many of us are having an easier time than others and not been touched by what we fear. You certainly aren't bragging, just reminding us to look for the good in our lives.

Itís not bragging...it is a truth. DH and I have spoken similar words thought out this pandemic. We are lucky to have a steady income and the ability to keep our social bubble small. Because of this, weíve also made it a point to solicit local small, businesses. Weíve sent money to our hairdressers, housekeepers, gardener, and a dear friend who needed a tiny boost.

This is the time to pay something forward or help another member of the community. This is what will hold us together.

You don't appear braggy at all, but grateful! It was a pleasure to read your uplifting post. You are right. Rather than focusing on what we don't have we need to focus on the positive, and there is a lot of it!

Thank you! I feel the same as you, but current events often distract me. I try to focus on my gratitude regularly, and your post reminded me to be very intentional about it today.

My DH and I have had this conversation. We are retired and doing well, health and money-wise. I am grateful we were able to move my mom here, from her senior residence where they haven't been allowed visitors for 4 months. She would have been a basket case. Plus, I am learning things about her family that no one knew, since she is the last of a very large farm family. Her being here makes me count my blessings that we can have her here and everyone is still speaking to one another!

I can't tell you how many times (and this was well before covid hit) I have pinched myself and thought how very fortunate I am to be retired and happy with my life. DH and I truly worry about others, but are very content with where we are and how we live.
It's a wise person that counts their blessings!

I was talking with my mom tonight and she asked how I was doing. I didn't want to tell her how anxious I was, so I went to my stand-by, I doing well, at least I got up this morning. I always remember even though I have health problems that I am doing well and am thankful for what I have. Thank you for your post.

This is a wonderful reminder to stop and realize the positives. We have also been so fortunate during this crisis. I thank my lucky stars every day!
