Anyone have a trex deck?

Our deck is old and has trex boards from over 20 years ago. The stairs are starting to wear and I am concerned. We didnít plan on and deck repairs for a few more years, but I donít want anyone to get hurt. We will need the stairs replaced and we are also considering new boards and railings since they are older also. The structure and joists are fine. There are so many choices. Anyone like their composite deck and railings? We will be doing a brown decking, but are undecided about the railings. We can choose white or the same color composite railing.

We just had some outdoor steps replaced and I considered trex. Contractor said while you donít have to ever paint or stain it, it gets really hot in the sun and attracts dirt and dust.

No, but I want to replace the old rotted wooden deck and back steps in my backyard with a trex deck. I like the low maintenance of it. I hope it works out for you

I love our Trex deck. We have some older Trex that is smooth and it hasn't worn as well as our deck which has Trex with a texture. So if you can afford it, I would change both the steps and deck with new Trex.

I would match the railing to the new Trex unless white pulls together your trim from other areas of the home. We have painted rails and they require a lot of upkeep.

We have trex steps leading up to our deck. They look very nice. We couldn't afford to replace the tile on the deck, so it doesn't match. Oh well. That's for the next owners to decide, when we decide to sell.

We have a patio but my neighbor put in a Tres deck a few years ago. It looks great and has worn well even with dogs, kids, pool, etc.
It is a light gray color with black aluminum railings. The railing gives it an open feel.

Although not officially the Trex brand, we put the same type on our deck 18 years ago when we built our house. It has worn very well. DH like the stuff so much that he used it for the outside trim around our doors and windows! Weíll never have to paint trim again. And the bonus - people have noticed and admired!

We have a Trex deck and love it. We have black aluminum rails. It does get hot but we don't walk on it barefoot. I cover it with an outdoor rug near the seating area. We love the low maintenance aspect of it. In the spring, we just hose it off really well or power wash it. Our deck is about 13 years old.
