crate seats

Clip to ScrapBook #1

I am wanting to make some crate seats. I would like to use black crates as most of the furniture in the room is black. Does anyone know off hand where I can get black crates?

How do you make the cushions? Do you make them about the same measurements as the wood piece and then stuff it with poly? How do you attach it to the wood? It is such a cute idea!

ArielJS - I've seen examples where teachers just use regular seat cushions rather than make their own. I suppose it depends how creative you want -- or have time -- to be.

Are the Target crates you mentioned for $2 available today, or next week?

Here is what I plan to do for cushions. I am going to cut foam the same size as the board then cover then entire thing with fabric attached with a staple gun. I think it should be really easy.

That sounds like a great idea. I need chairs for the computers. I guess back to Walmart for green crates or even better to Target.

For those of you who don't sew and change your theme each year. You can simply take the foam and wrap it like a present. They you can hot glue the fabric like you would use take to seal it. I change my theme each year so to me this would be easier than trying to pull of the staples from the wood.

I'm very interested in what you're talking about, but am having trouble picturing exactly what it would look like in my head. Does anyone have a pictures of what a crate seat would look like? TIA
