Oh my, my, my...There is a HUGE family of ants that have somehow made it inside my house! Yesterday, no ants. Today, TONS of them.
Some are little sugar ants, but some are FLYING!!!

How do I get rid of them???

I don't know if this works, but I saw on pinterest that if you put cornmeal where you see the ants they will eat it and take it back to their home and somehow it kills them and they stop coming in. The cornmeal doesn't harm kids or pets.

They have invaded here, too. I don't know why--they usually only appear when it is raining. I. It try the cornmeal idea since we have pets.

We live in North Carolina, home of the fire ant! Ouch and itch! If we don't set a poison barrier around our house, they invade, too.

We buy the granular stuff from Lowe's that you can sprinkle around the foundation of your house. I also keep a lookout for ants that are in the yard. Here they build mounds that alert us that they are approaching. My husband got mad one evening and burned them with lighter fluid along our sidewalk! That certainly did kill them.

When I recently had ants I wiped down the area with plain, full strength, white vinegar. Worked like a charm! I haven't seen an ant since. (I didn't want to use chemicals because of my cats.)
