Clip to ScrapBook #1

We have a first year teacher joining our staff and I wanted to make her a welcome basket.
What are some must haves for a new teacher?

that comes to mind is an EZ grader.
Nice colored correcting pens would be nice also.
AND if the secretary doesn't supply it, a list of phone numbers in case she needs to contact anyone from the school.

Chocolate candy and asprin Also, sticky notes, markers/expo markers, stickers, a good stapler, colored ink pens, a timer, a lanyard for her ID badge, and chalkboard/whiteboard magnets if she has a magnetic board. I can't think of anything else right now...

School T-shirt for Sure!!

I think the idea of including a school t-shirt is really important!
Ask your secretary, PTA or P (whomever is the keeper/orders such) for this for your new teacher. I hate changing schools and not having a school tshirt to wear on "spirit days" which are every Friday at my school.

Meds to keep in her locked teacher cabinet
Tylenol
Midol
Pepto
Benedryl

Beauty aids
nail file (I hate it when I break a nail at work!)
small lent roller
small can of prevent static electricity
chap stick or lip gloss
tooth picks or floss sticks

I agree with PP EZ Grader is the best idea. It is great to have one at home and one at school.

Key chain with a whistle for the playground is another good idea.

I keep a nail file, a hair brush, a small sewing kit, a small tool set, popcorn, hot choc mix, lotion, etc. What about a whistle?

I don't have anything to add right now (I'll come back if I think of anything), but I just wanted to say how thoughtful it is of you to do something to make her feel so welcome! I'm currently searching for my first teaching job and hope my future colleagues are as kind and thoughtful as you!

What a nice idea! I would also include a stain remover stick (Tide to Go), safety pins, and maybe some blank labels- I use them all the time for addressing envelopes, marking my things, labeling file folders, etc. You could also put in a stress ball and change for a vending machine item or coffee!
