Got a tattoo tonight and I hate it

(For some reason I canít log in on my phone.)

Itís my first tattoo and it looks like crap! Iím literally sick to my stomach over it. I got some words and some of the letters arenít straight. Iím so disappointed. So disappointed that I already want to get laser removal and itís not even 2 hours old. And what makes me angry is that my ever-wanting-to-please husband will not admit that it looks bad.

Logged in on my computer just so I could post the picture of the bad tattoo.

I've never had a tattoo, but maybe wait a few days and see if you like it better? This is no where near the same scale, but I always hate my hair when I change it the first few days. I am convinced it looks bad. It takes me time to get used to it. Maybe that is the same for your tattoo? I hop it isn't noticeably crooked. Maybe only you can notice it since it is your body.

I like it! But can't you go back and see if they can "fix" what you don't like?

Let it heal

Maybe it will look better when the swelling and redness go down?

I know mine looked puffy and oozy for several days after I got them done, but turned out fine.

I wonder if itís the swelling and puffiness that makes it look uneven. I agree, give it a few days and see if you like it better.

I agreee that you should wait until it heals completely. Itís swollen now which will make the letters look wobbly.

Well honestly, I am not a fan of tattoos. However, I agree with pp to give it some time. Upon first glance I would not think there were mistakes or that it was hideous. I would not personally think it looked crooked. But again, I am Not a tattoo person. I completely agree that it takes me time to like a new haircut, hair color, etc. Please wait a few days before making a decision. And ironically, you do want to "live more & think less" so maybe don't overthink it? Have a Friday night cocktail?

I agree with every one above me, and thought maybe it appropriate to tell you that this is an instance where you might have to heed the advice on your tattoo.

See! That's exactly what I needed to hear from y'all.
  • maybe it can be fixed
  • let it heal
  • the swelling will go down when it heals and maybe it won't look so wobbly
  • TAKE THE ADVICE OF MY TATTOO

Yes, I'm an overthinker. Clearly.

Late to the party, but yes, yes, yes!!

I hope it looks better to you soon. I had to look really closely to see what *might* be uneven. I think it looks pretty good, actually. So I don't think your husband is necessarily being dishonest when he won't say it looks bad.

As an owner of nine tattoos, I say let it heal, then decide. All of the artists I know will fix anything you aren't happy with because they like people to like their work. I had one reworked because colors didn't pop like I wanted, and another just looked like it needed something added.

I think it looks fine for a fresh tattoo. Do keep in mind that lines in skin don't ever look quite as straight as lines on paper. And where it is located will make a difference, too.

Let it heal. After, if ou are still unhappy, go back. A good tattoo artist will touch up/fix their work.

Iím going to try and post a picture here. Let the swelling go down and then look at it. Mine is off center but I still love it. I just think of it a bit quirky like me.

I like it! I say take the advice you've been given.

It's no doubt swollen and perhaps a bit red. It will eventually scab also which will no doubt leave it looking more like it "should."

PS - I couldn't find anything wrong with it!

I love the sentiment and fonts!!! I agree, give it some time. Did it hurt a ton? I want to get one on my wrist area.

I don't think it looks bad. And my first thought is to let it heal and see what happens.

Live by your words! Not a tattoo gal here, but you obviously thought long and hard before getting this. Embrace your words!

Thanks for checking back. I'm not a tattoo person in general but this one really speaks to me. I'm actually getting more used to it and really liking it.
