If I send something to Staples and had it laminated would it be okay to cut? At school, I've always cut first then laminated but these are bunch of flashcards.

You can, but they won't last as long as the edges won't be as well sealed. Unless they are two layer flashcards (the card and a backing), then don't do it because they'll just fall apart.

It should be fine. Staples laminating film is stronger and better than the laminating film schools use. I wouldn't cut as close to the edge.
