Slow Start

How do you start your day? Do you pop out of bed when you wake up and get going? Or do you stay in bed for a bit and ease in to the day?

I have been awake for over an hour and am just now thinking about maybe getting out of bed. I've spent a little time online, but mostly I am here. Doing nothing except thinking and being.

I could never do this until the kids got old enough to do their own thing when they get up. When I am working I have to start the morning marathon of getting everyone ready. I'm not sure if this is somewhat normal or if I am just a special kind of lazy

I like a slow start. i usually get out of bed shortly after waking, but I like an extended period of coffee drinking and quiet reflection before I get going. Even when I'm working, I usually wake up early enough to have at least a half hour of this before I start my day.

I love my summer mornings!!!! My husband has to leave for work around 7:00 so he always makes a hot pot of coffee before he leaves. I usually drink my coffee in bed and surf the internet for an hour or so. I don't feel guilty at all. The school year is always a crazy whirlwind...and now that I am 50 and my kids are grown, I feel like I am finally taking care of spoiling me!

Usually my bladder makes it a quick start.

After that I stumble downstairs for coffee and Bible study. There are some days I go back and lounge in bed. If I do that, though, I lose hours of my day, so I typically just get up and going once my bladder demands it.

I get right out of bed because my dogs will need to go out.

But, after I let them out I sit for a good hour with my coffee doing nothing much!

If I don't have anything scheduled, I can take a long time to get showered and dressed.

I am up by 5:30 or 6 am. Like others I enjoy my iced coffee and watching the news and surfing on my phone. Most mornings I meet a friend to walk at 7:15, so I do need to get going by then.

I like to roll over, hit the snooze alarm,

maybe reset the alarm for another half hour, etc. Totally lazy if I have no appointments. I also love to lollygag over coffee.

My sweetie, OTOH, pops right up and has his side of the bed made before I even open my eyes. He's a farmer. If he does not pop up, I know he does not feel well, which is rare, but has happened.

Very slow start. It is hard for me to wake up. I am still have asleep while i get ready for school. I dont really wake til its time to drive to work. I get up at 6:15, breakfast at 6:30, on the couch by 6:45 to sit there in a daze and cuddle my dog til 7 when i leave.

Non school days i have the luxury of waiting for my pain meds to kick in, so after i get up i sit on the couch with my dog for an hour before i get my day started, so i can be pain free

I'm not an early bird unless I have to be. Summer mornings are relaxed and move slow. I generally lay in bed and surf a little before getting up. Then I make myself breakfast and move to the couch where I spend some time reading and surfing. It's usually a few hours before I get up to get dressed. Even then, I'm always in comfy clothes unless I have to leave the house.

Sometimes, I wake up and am still a bit tired. I watch TV or look at my I-Pad for a bit, and then I get up. I am single and don't have to think about anyone else at home. The days are long with social limitations due to Covid, so I am in no hurry. I usually exercise in the bedroom before going downstairs.

I get up right away, but I don't have much of a choice. I teach English classes online 45 min after I get up and need to be showered & dressed by then to leave for summer school right after. If there is a rare day I sleep in I can often sleep later, but still tend to be out of bed within about 10 min.

I wake early to walk. It's just too hot if you wait.

It depends on what I have planned for the day. If I have a meeting, I get up right away to get ready. Today, I didn't have anything planned, so I lounged around until about 2:00. I enjoyed just doing nothing this morning.

I always hit snooze twice, but since Covid, Iíve been getting up and doing my online exercise class first thing. Then I go out and walk 3 1/2 miles, or do the treadmill if the weather is bad.
My lazy part of the day is when I return from my walk. I shower and then sit and read emails or on the internet for a couple hours.

My husband works from home, so Iím always awake by 7:30 am at the latest because he makes a ton of noise. I usually get up around 6 am and head straight for the coffee maker. I sit in my recliner, read, go online, or watch one of my YouTube subscriptions. I do not go back into bed because again, my husband is noisy, and if Iím there heís asking me things or using an electric razor. I love peace and quiet in the morning. Iím out the door for my walk by 8 am.

Well, it depends on if it's a work day or a weekend/break day. I sleep best in the mornings and have a terrible time getting up so early for work. I've learned I have to set my alarm for at least 20 minutes before I actually have to get out of bed because that's how long it takes me. I wish I was one of those "pop out of bed" people!

If it's a weekend/break day, when I wake up I often spend about 45 minutes- an hour in bed before actually getting up. I don't set an alarm so I can just wake up whenever my body is ready. I usually look at stuff on my phone and snuggle my cat before actually getting out of bed on those days, since I don't have to worry about what time it is.

As soon as I wake up, I think about coffee. That gets me out of bed!

Then I tend to sip coffee in my robe on the back porch for a while, so I wouldn't say that's much more energetic than you!

DH pops out of bed, makes breakfast, feeds dogs, goes for a walk.

I pee, take meds, go back to bed, fall back asleep, and wake up around lunchtime.

Sloooooow, always slow. My favorite thing is to be able to read in bed for an hour or two in the morning. Often I'll fall back asleep for a bit.
