Don't have to find a sub!

One of the things I love about being retired is not having to get a substitute when I'm sick. I have a terrible cold and feel awful but am relaxed as I flop on the couch and watch movies because I have no class to worry about and no anxiety thinking should I go back now and just struggle through not feeling up to managing all the rambunctious kids!

Let's see---feeling horrible, but under no obligation to manage rambunctious kids. Hmm...that's # 178 on the "Positive Things About Retirement" list.

Feel better soon, sweetie.

I was sick a few weeks ago and thought the same thing. I was free to just be sick and not get plans ready or wonder how I would catch up when I return. Who knew even being sick when you're retired would be OK?

This is really sad - but one thing that I am looking forward to in retirement is being able to not feel well and knowing that it's ok to just stay in my pajamas all day and not having to worry about sub plans. I felt just awful last week and kept thinking about calling in sick, but it was easier to go to work feeling terrible than it was to deal with all of the worry and anxiety of planning for not being there. I kept thinking that if I was already retired, I wouldn't have to deal with this!

We certainly deserve pajama day all day.....even when we aren't sick! Think of how many days we dragged ourselves to school, sick, in the rain, in the cold... because it was so much more work ( I have stayed at school as late as 9:00 preparing for a sub) to make extra plans for the sub!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, we deserve it!

Occupy Your Bedroom!

Let's stage an Occupy Your Bedroom day! We can stay in our PJ's all day even though we're not sick! Let's flip open our laptops and chat on Poteacher until the urge to nap sets in. What a way to indulge ourselves in the luxury of retirement. Think I'll shop for new PJ's today.

You made my day! I am smiling from ear to ear. OCCUPY THE BEDROOM! Love it, love it, love it. PJ's all day is one of my favorites. My poor mailman only knows me if I am wearing my PJ's. haha! Oh is it time for a nap? I love retirement, naps, Proteach, and pj's.

Renea and mtnteacher...OK, I'm in for Occupy Your Bedroom Day! Oh wait...I've been doing that for more days than I should admit too. Even bought really nice microfleece pjs on QVC instead of "school clothes!"
