Contract hours are 8 to 4. (Students are there from 8:30 to 3:30)

Most days I arrive at 7:30 and leave between 4:30 and 5:00.

I am the Elementary Department head as well as the fourth grade teacher. (Private school, one class per grade.)

We have to be there from 8:10-3:00. Kids arrive at 8:15, school starts at 8:30 and ends at 2:45. I usually get in at 7:40 and leave around 3:15.

I also work at a private school. Our contract hours are 7:45-3:45, but they allow us to sign out at 3:30. Kids are there from 8-3.

I would get to school really early if I could, but I am the one to get my daughter to daycare, so I don't want to wake her any earlier than I have to. And, the daycare is right next door to my school and they give a discount to employees of the school if we only have our kids there during our contract hours. So-- I get to school right before 7:45 every morning. Most days, however, I run over at 3:30 to get my daughter, and then she plays in my classroom until I'm ready to leave for the day-- usually close to 4:30 or 5.

contractual hours are 8am to 3:15 pm Mondays and Tuesdays. Wednedays its 8am to 2:20 then we have professional development from 2:20-4:00pm. Thursdays & Fridays are 8 to 2:20pm.

I get there most days to the minute (single mom taking my daughter to school) and I leave 4 or 5pm for the first 3 or 4 months of school. Then after that I leave 3 or 3:30pm.

This year will be my first as a K teacher so probably will be like my first year teaching. I was there many days until 6pm.

I try to be there by 7:15--contract says 8:30 and usually go thru 5:30--contract says 3:45. Sometimes longer to input grades ( a lot of essays, so it's a process) or to straighten up, make up interesting choice of stations/activities, or plan. About 11 hours a day and a few more hours on weekends, even though they don't let us come into the building. Generally, I do what I feel is right until I am too tired, irritated, or the muse eludes me. I spend a lot of time reading and evaluating books and texts by myself.

Contract hours are 7:45 to 3:30. I'm usually there by 7:00 & stay till 5:00. After school there are faculty meetings, grade level meetings, department meetings, committee meetings, and curriculum meetings. None of these are more frequent than once every 2 weeks, some are less than that; I'll refrain from commenting on the usefulness of any of these. I also sponsor our yearbook, as we have weekly meetings after school for that. One week out of every 5 or 6 weeks I have after school car duty or bus duty.

Wow! Some of you have students in class for a long time! Our school starts at 8:15 and ends at 2:00 (with 45 min for lunch break and a 15 min recess). We are required to be there 15. min before and 10 min after. I usually work 8:00 - 3:30, but I take work home or go back in the evening if I need to.

Our school hours are 8:55-3:30 and we are only mandated to be in our classrooms 10 minutes before the start and we can leave as soon as the kids do if we want. It's interesting to me that you guys have contracted time before and after school because we don't do that here at all. The time I get there in the morning depends...Mondays is always early, around 8 but the rest of the week is probably around 8:30. I usually stay until around 4:30. Depending on what's going on, sometimes until around 6. We have staff meetings only once a month after school. Any after school activities are on a volunteer basis only. Last year I coached basketball, which was 2 practices and 1 game a week and I'm sure I'll do it again this year.

Contract hours are 7:00-3:30 (I think).

All of the morning duties are covered by assistants. I leave after my afternoon duty.

My DH and I teach and commute together and he has no interest in being at school after hours, so we arrive ~20 minutes early and leave right on time. Just means I do a lot of work at home!

School is from 8am till 3pm. Teachers are to be there 20 min before/after kids. Last year I went in at 7am and left at 4pm even if I wasn't done (1.5 hrs extra). I still plan to do that, but am hoping it won't take that long this year. I can always hope, right?

Normal times we must be there: 7:20-2:25.

Duty times we have to be there (once a week): 7:05-2:50

Times I'm usually there: 7:00-3:30 (I've learned to get it all done in that time frame!).

No after school clubs for us, but we have faculty meetings once a week until 4:30.

Other responsibilities: lunch duty everyday

I have kids from 8:30-3:25 no lunch duty, morning and afternoon duty once a week. I usually get there at 8:00 after dropping kids at school, leave at 5:00 PM. My goal is to leave at 4:00 this year whenever possible. My poor kids feel like they never see me They are leaving for there activities around 5:00 several times a week. DD wants me home to talk to more since my other DD is leaving for college. My DS wants me to cook more These sentiments were expressed in a family meeting this week. They made me smile, glad they care.

Contract hours are 7:35 - 3 and kids are there 7:45 - 2. I usually get there around 7 and don't leave until around 5. However from 3 - 4 I am on the clock through our aftercare program as I am an academic advisor and run homework room.

I am the second grade chair person so I have one meeting after school a month for that. We also have one faculty meeting after school a month. Twice a month we stay after school for learning team meetings. I also the yearbook advisor so I have a lot to do for that after school - though I am giving up the reigns this school year and am training a new yearbook advisor.

Changing Schools
Old 07-31-2012, 01:27 PM

Clip to ScrapBook #25

My previous school was 8-4 for teacher hours and 9-3 for kids hours (private school).

I am teaching at a public school starting in the fall. Teachers are contracted for 8:30-3:15, kids are 8:40-3:00. I was told the extended day program will be using my classroom before and after school, so this changes my plans in terms of my hours. If I had my classroom available to me, I probably would have worked 7:30-4:30. Since I can't access my classroom before and after school, I will only come early or stay late if I have meetings/need to make copies and I will have to take my work home.
