So excited

My oldest dd finishes her last final for her undergraduate degree today. I am so excited and proud of her! She graduates from our mining and engineering school this month. When she first went, she really went there because they gave her a sweet package and she didn't really know what she wanted to do with herself. I am not sure she knows still what she wants to do with herself, but she has a goal and a direction. She worked very hard to get good grades (one semester was especially tough and she had to work even harder to get out of the hole that one put her in), stuck with it using pure grit and determination. I am so very proud of her!

She will be moving home this month and staying until Fall, unless some opportunity comes up that takes her someplace else. Come fall she will most likely be going farther away from home and I am going to enjoy every minute of having her here. She is such a great girl. I hope she gets a job so she can save money, but truthfully, she helps out tremendously and really doesn't spend much money, so if nothing comes along it won't be a deal breaker. Plus, I know she will get something. Might not be a job she wants, but at this point it is putting money in the bank for the next phase. I can't believe how excited I am to have her coming home! Merry Christmas to me!

That is the first I've heard of a mining and engineering degree. Maybe I live in a shelter world? But is sounds awesome!

Congratulations to you both! How exciting for her to be finished and for you to have a college graduate ... and you get to celebrate the holidays with her and keep for for a little longer It's all the more sweet when you know what she's gone through to get where she is right now
