I don’t know too much as she was in the ER. I got a quick call from my Dad who took her to what was supposed to be an appointment to hear what the PET Scan showed (Pneumonia caused problems with it). Her pneumonia wasn’t getting better. They decided to admit her and give her Oxygen. It sounds like she will will be getting a scope put down her throat. My dad and his wife are with her now and will see her tomorrow. My mom and I were thinking of going up on Sunday with my other sister. Not sure if we will go backup Monday or ?? We are kind of in a tough position with her being so far. We want to be there for her, but I have Gabriel whose life is here and my parents are older. Neither one can drive themselves both ways in one day. 😢

I hope your sister can kick this bout of pneumonia. Then she can focus on her other health issues. I am praying that she is able to get well and receive the stem cell transplant.

I sent her another card this week. Sorry to hear this.

Any chance you know someone who could keep Gabriel for a day or two so you could go visit? I imagine that would make both of you feel a little better. Or some teen that could go with you and watch him where ever you stay while you visit?

Probably IV antibiotics. I sure hope the doctors can quickly figure out an effective treatment so she can feel better. This is rough.

Please give my very best to her. I'll be praying and watching for news.

I am sorry your sister is so sick. I am praying fervently that she recovers as quickly as possible and that you all can work out something so that you can go and spend some time with her.

Oh no! I'm so sad to hear this! I agree with seeing if anyone could spend time with Gabriel so you can spend time with your sister. I hope you are all able to go up and spend time with her and I hope she gets rid of the pneumonia soon. Sending her lots of (((love))).

Right now it isn't about anyone keeping Gabriel. I am fortunate that I am pretty sure I can find someone to watch him. The issue before was she wasn’t up for company. She wasn’t able to stay awake nor did she even want to watch TV. My fear was that she was going to try and force herself to be awake/feel guilty having someone drive up there for her to spend 2 minutes with them. Hopefully now that she will have been on Oxygen, she will be up to company next week. My Dad called and said she was in a makeshift room until they figured out what to do. There is an on call oncologist who will look at her tomorrow morning and go from there. Her oncologist wanted her to stay until Monday or Tuesday when the hope was the pneumonia was gone. The hospital disagreed and was thinking of sending her home tomorrow.

I hope your sister gets to stay until Tuesday.

There were times my mom could have been a one day admit, and frankly both she and us just needed a small breather. We she was at the hospital, we could hurry up and do little things before she came home again.

I get the hospital is about utilization management, and turning beds over. If it's helpful your sister stays even one more day, I hope that happens.

Pnuemonia is no joke. Im sending her prayers. I would personally go and see her. Even if just for an hour or less. Her being so far away is difficult but with her health, it is important to see her as much as you can.

in prayer for recovery and healing. I hope the hospital relents and she stays as long as she needs. If her doctor thinks she should stay that should be the final say.
