Or...just finished radiation #6 out of 21. Anybody who has nursed a baby has probably felt the pain I am having. Remember when the baby was learning how to latch on? Remember the soreness? It's been 33 years since I nursed last, and those memories came rushing back two days ago. Apparently, because of where the radiation is aimed, it will only get worse. Goody...... And, no deodorant under that arm. AND I am subbing for p.e. and will be outside ALL day tomorrow. I have to go straight to the cancer center from school to get there by 3:30. I can't shave under that arm, either. So there's that. Poor girls who have to position me and all that.

Wishing you a fast recovery time mrsd5. You are a very courageous warrior by getting out there to sub during your treatment!

Did they give you any lotion to put on after treatment? That may help with the pain. If you are subbing middle school, the kids probably smell worse. Good luck with your treatment. We are counting down with you.

It will be over before you know it. I had 21 treatments and my skin got itchy week 2 or 3. The worst part for me was they had to strap me down on my stomach which is big and it was hard to breathe. I was tired toward the end of treatments. Other than that I don't seem to have any lasting effects. You are strong to sub while going through this.

Best wishes to you as you work through your treatment. I had 21 treatments also. Follow their advice on skin care.

You are amazing to work while in treatment.

When I was in rads they told me I could use deodorant under that arm as long as I washed it off before my treatments. Also, try some Udder Cream on the sore area. Its miraculous!
