I know we have we have talked about this before, but this is crazy. The add on my phone at the bottom of the page is for a shark vacuum. My shark stopped working yesterday. We discussed if we should take it to see if it can be repaired, or just buy a new one. DH and I agreed that we love it and would get the same. But, I did not search for one at all.

Do you already have the Apex ( the one in the ad)? We have it and it is sort of loud in a high pitched way. It doesn’t bother me, but DH has more sensitive hearing and he actually puts on headphones when I vacuum. Hmmmm....or is it to get out of doing that chore

I just looked at the ad again. Ours is the stick version, not the upright so it might not be as loud.

Same thing happened to me after discussing the very specific brand of snow tires we had on car A b/c I wanted to purchase them for car B. NO computer involved.

Yep, that EXACT brand showed up in an internet ad later that day!

Later when I asked DS25 if my phone could have been listening to me, his answer was, " legally? No. Probably, yes"

We just had a similar experience. Dh was looking at shirts on his laptop. He was on Instagram later in the day and an add came up for the company he was looking at on his laptop. We were speechless. How does an add for something you looked at on a laptop appear on your phone? Definitely scary.

There was a post a couple of days ago on the Teachers Lounge about Shark vacuums. That could have been what prompted the ad for Shark vacuums to show up on the page.

Sasha B

That makes sense. I like that reason for the ad much better!

I had that creepy feeling about a Google Search this week. My DH was watching an old John Wayne movie and my DIL asked if the woman in it wasn't the mom from the original Parent Trap. I said it was, but could only remember her first name. I turned to Google for help and had typed in only, 'mom in the original' when Google started auto adding options. The first one on the list???? Mom in the original Parent Trap. Out of ALL the movies/TV shows that I might have been going to type, how did Google know I was looking for the Parent Trap??? Are they listening???? Creepy!!
