Uninstalled FB

I saw one too many posts that just grated on my nerves. I don't go to FB for nonsense. Yes, I've been guilty, but come on how many posts a day do you have to share about masks, politics, Corona virus, whose lives matter. I get it. We all have opinions. We are are all entitled to our opinion and feel posting might change the belief of one person. But if you need to post negative things every day and multiple times I'm done. Yes, I could just unfriend, unfollow, etc., but it sure was easier to just uninstall the app! And there were too many at this point to unfollow.

It's been weird because I was on FB too many times a day, and maybe that's the problem. Hopefully this break will help me not be so obsessed with checking. Seriously the world with still carry on if I don't see a post until later in the day or God forbid the next day!

Ahhhh! Freedom from BS!!!

I am on marketplace and messenger as a result. I am purging 3 households. I may agree with a lot but get suckered in. One friend is (based on what I garnered from her posts) a Trump supporter as she is posting all these wild conspiracy theories Covid with that Dr. Immanuel and prior to that about Tom Hanks and a lot of others are into child porn. I am tired of hearing about how bad of shape our country is in. I posted about Rebecca and got all these responses about how sorry people were, but it has been almost 4 weeks and no one cares. Iím tired of friends who are only surface level friends.

It feels good, doesn't it. I had a professional Twitter account. I was so tired of educators bashing each other. The meanness I saw astounded me. I had enough of it. On Sunday night, I deleted it. I feel so much better. I'm not as grumpy and grouchy as I was. Facebook isn't as bad yet. I haven't been looking at it as much, so may that is reason. Enjoy your new found freedom!

I did that last week. Iíve been FB free since last Friday and Iím loving it! It had gotten to the point that going on just stressed me out too much. I might go back in another week or two. I might wait until mid-November. I might not go back at all.

I did the same with Twitter.

I never got into FB for personal safety reasons, but I'm starting to feel the same way about Twitter.

I signed up for education convos, and now, educators think that I want to hear their political opinions. Even Twitter makes assumptions about that with who they suggest I follow. I just want to connect regarding the classroom and edtech!

Good for you! I've had a FB account, but never really went on it. From time to time, it's the only way to contact a company about an issue and that's been it. I put some pictures on and haven't changed or added anything the whole time (years).

I use FB, love it for what it provides me. However, I only use it on my laptop. That way I have to go looking. I will not install it on my phone because I do not want to constantly be saddled with updates and notifications! It definitely makes a difference!

Too much FB

I get on FB too much. I am on it to keep track of family, which is stupid since most of them can contact me otherwise. I've even deleted my account for a while, but went back on FB. It's awful. I'm afraid I'll miss something but in reality it's mostly time consuming or negative. I really should get away from FB too. Good for you. I'm sure you will feel so much better.

I love my FB account because I basically only postings of pets. Once in a while I get a post from family/friends. I don't think I could take seeing posts from family/friends on a daily basis. I know when I go directly into their accounts I am usually disappointed. In fact, I have loss some respect for one aunt that I love. I just started twitter and haven't really had any problems.
