From all of the online training. We were promised protected planning time and yet every single presenter the last two days has run over by at least 20 minutes. So much to do and already behind. We started Monday.

Years ago, before computers, I worked with a woman who every year, on the first day, would say teaching is a job that you start out already behind. It was true then, and is true now. Throw away the notion that you will ever really catch up. Do what is absolutely necessary, and of what is left, do what you can and discard the rest.

This year is especially hard. No one knows what will happen, how the rest of the year will play out. It’s a good year to adopt one day at a time as your motto.

We spent from 8:00-2:00 on a Zoom call with our principal today. We did not get lunch and only had a five-minute break. We mostly talked about our feelings. I wish I was kidding.

We start tomorrow, so yeah, good use of our time, fearless leader.

with too much scheduled PD. There doesn't seem to be any understanding of how long it takes to "digitize" decent lessons.
