Do you teach accent marks? Do you see any value in teaching it? I have searched on-line, but only found quotes that say "it is beneficial in learning the rules of spelling". I find no specific reasoning that makes it beneficial. Also, if you teach accent syllables where do you have them mark it (before the syllable or after). I have found dictionaries written both ways.

We talk about it, but have not used them. Our music teacher does a clapping activity with their names that helps them hear accents. She will clap and the students have to guess who she is thinking about. LAZ a rus or bri AN a, for example.
