Does anyone have a tried-and-true recipe for that? DH wants that for his birthday and I'd like to attempt it, but I never have.

But I did make ganache one time. It was incredibly easy and tasted delicious. If I remember correctly, it's just heated cream poured over chopped chocolate pieces. Unless he wants whipped ganache. I've never done that, but I think you just cool it and whip it with a blender.

what is meant by a chocolate ganache chocolate cake. I don't know if that is a molten chocolate cake which I have made from the Martha Stewart site or a chocolate cake with chocolate ganache.

I have made a lot of cakes. Here is a recipe for cupcakes that I make into a cake. I simply make the batter in a cake pan, use the ganache to fill and frost the top of the cake and then pipe the buttercream around the top and bottom edge. This is the cake that everyone asks for all the time.

The beer, whiskey and Irish Bailey's Cream add a subtle flavor and moisture but does not stand out as a real flavor.

Thanks for the tips and recipes!

Yes, it's a chocolate cake with a ganache frosting. There are recipes all over the internet but they have mixed reviews. The one with the best review was pretty complicated!

I just hate to make him a guinea pig on his birthday.
