Sunday evening musings

Had a nice visit with all my kids and grandkids in the house. Ages 7, 2, and two months.

Learning to make soap and after a month I can make some that looks like what you see on Pinterest. Well a few batches, anyway.

My hip is a pain. It doesnít hurt as bad as long as I take it slow when walking around which actually doesnít bother me at all. When Iím in a store I just let everyone else hustle and bustle around me doesnít bother me at all.

Iím lucky though, because Iím healthy otherwise.

The weather is perfect, 60 to 70 degrees and sunny wish it would stay that way awhile. In Oklahoma we can have fall up until the first of December.

Enjoy Sunday evening without lesson planning!

Grandchildren are so much fun! I saw 2 of ours today. The 10 month old never stopped smiling and playing peek a boo. The four year old climbed up on the chair with me and wanted to snuggle. Priceless!

Your soap making sounds interesting. Homemade goat milk soap is very popular around here. What do you use?

We had the perfect fall day...deep blue skies with plenty of colorful leaves in PA. Temp in 60's.

I agree about Sunday nights! So relaxing!

Good reminder, blue skies, that itís is in our power to help create memories our grandkids will cherish long after weíre gone. They may or may not ever make soap again, but I bet any time the SEE handmade soap they will remember you and tell whoever they were with.

Here is my soap ingredients: Olive oil, coconut oil, soy oil. (One quart total the proportion varies) Then I add 1/2 c lye dissolved in 1 1/2 c water. Temp around 120 degrees then I mix together and add dried goat milk.

Today I added 1/4 c pumpkin and spice and then cooked it longer and ended up with pretty pumpkin pie soap.

Iíve already supplied both kids with soap and they shouldnít need to buy soap.

With kids around I only do pre made soap without the lye measurement steps.

I just put previous batches in that didnít turn out pretty then they cook in the slow cooker until they get almost translucent.
