For me it's The Exorcist. I was an adult before I could sit through the whole movie. It still gives me the creeps. I've seen movies like Scream and they don't bother me.
I remember seeing it as a young adult and I lived by myself. I drove from my friend's house to my house after we watched it, and I was creeped out all night. I'm pretty sure that was my last scary movie.
An American Werewolf in London still gives me the creeps. I can't watch it all the way without throwing up or getting a very nauseating feeling in my stomach.
A horror movie called Hide and Seek, with Robert Di Niro. I really hate the whole genre, probably because of that movie, lol.
Now, it's funny so many people mention Silence of the Lambs, because I first saw it as a teen and found it gross and creepy, but after rewatching it recently (about 25 years later) I think it's a great thriller and so well done. The horror is really kept to a minimum, it's more about the psychological suspense (though I did look away from a couple of scenes). I really enjoyed it, I have to say.
It's available on Amazon prime now, if anybody wants to give it another try
It was on tv when I was babysitting as a teenager. My parents had said I shouldn’t watch it, but I figured the tv station would cut anything too scary because it was on network tv. OMG! I don’t like scary movies!
I like scary movies! I think the creepiest ones...I'm talking about the ones I wouldn't watch if I lived alone are those Grudge movies! (Maybe those Ring and Paranormal Activity movies too.)
My cousin took my brother and me to see “It’s Alive!” When we were preteens. We still talk about how much it frightened us. I’ll never forget the bloody milkman scene.
I scare easily . But The Exorcist tops my list. Plus I 'll always remember driving home on a dark rainy night with a boyfriend who got us lost! Added to the fright!
I accidentally saw this when I was a teenager. We thought we were going to see something else. We thought they just hadn’t changed the ads yet.🤪. Anyway, this movie gave me nightmares for weeks.
